How many times have you heard, "you are what you eat"? Sounds trite, but it is true. Your bones, muscles, organs and cells are built and maintained by the proteins, carbohydrates and fats that you consume on a daily basis. Do you want to feel more energetic, lose weight, live longer? If you answered yes, you must have quality nutrition in your life. You simply cannot rebuild the structures that your body needs without proper nourishment. Also, you cannot lose weight and maintain your ideal weight by conventional dieting. Without the right plan, you will damage your metabolism and end up overweight and/or sick.

There is so much information on how to "eat right" in newspapers, magazines, talk shows, books, etc. This information is not only overwhelming, but often wrong. Additionally, as an individual, you have specific nutritional requirements for your body and lifestyle that cannot be summarized in an article, book or TV segment. How can you determine what is most helpful for you? You need a professional to assess what your body's requirements are to rebuild and/or maintain a healthy metabolism.

How does the nutritional consultation work?

Your consultation will be completely based on your individual needs and goals. We will discuss and evaluate your health and nutrition, utilize questionnaires to pinpoint high priority areas and create a plan based on these areas and your personal goals. We will progress at a pace best suited to lasting change.

When will I get results?

If your goal is to improve your health, you will get results right away. The fact that you are motivated to change is part of the process. If you are also looking to lose weight and improve your physical appearance, the rate of change is dependent on your current state of health and your level of commitment. The sooner you begin, the sooner you will experience results.

What if I have had trouble in the past sticking to diets?

No problem. You will not be going on a "diet." You will be able to eat plenty of delicious foods and not feel deprived, tired and hungry. You will feel more satisfied, energetic and fulfilled, reinforcing you to continue on your nutritional plan. We will make changes that you will be able to maintain without unrealistic expectations.

How long will I have to be on this plan?

There is no singular plan like "South Beach" or "Atkins" that you will be going on. You won't be counting points or starving yourself. Rather, you will learn how to eat optimally for your body at the current moment. I will guide you when your body begins to make changes and when your requirements change. Once you begin to feel good, you will want to continue on the path of feeling good. So, rather than starting and finishing a "plan," you will begin a positive transformation that allows you to continue looking and feeling your best indefinitely.
