"I began Pilates training two years ago with Hally and it has become a key component of my physical well-being ever since. Hally and her team at Thrive are attentive, enthusiastic and extremely dedicated to your individual goals, whether that be shaping up for your wedding, staying fit during a pregnancy or just adding a new challenge to your workout routine. I highly recommend Hally and Thrive Pilates to family, friends...anyone looking for a great workout with great people." -Kelly
I've been practicing Pilates at Thrive since this past summer. I was having quite a bit of back pain and knew I needed strengthening. I had never done Pilates before. My first instructor was Lauren and she was very attentive to my individual needs. I even did a few private sessions with her for a one on one focus. Before long I knew just what stretches helped me and the results have been tremendous! I feel myself improving with eash session and I try to attend class three times a week. I can't say enough good things about Thrive and all of the instructors. Each one of them puts a personal touch on their classes. Classes are offered each day at convenient times. Pilates is the perfect marriage of working out and mental release. The deep breathing and stretching are peaceful but each workout is challenging and invigorating. Prepare to sweat..........

"As an active person and former competitive tennis player, I'm always looking for new ways to challenge myself and to stay in shape. Pilates is one of the most challenging workouts that I've ever attempted. After my first mat class, I was shocked at the weakness of my core. I was immediately impressed by Gina's knowledge of the body and ability to assess my specific needs. Through mat classes at Thrive and private sessions, I am learning amazing technique and pushing my body to new limits."

"I have enjoyed the Thrive classes for the past several months and have found all the instructors to be very professional. The format of the classes lends itself to a lot of personal attention which has resulted in progress for me. The studio space is terrific and I look forward to working with Thrive for a long time." - Deborah
"I have been doing Pilates for over 5 years at various studios and Hally is one of the best! She is attentive to your needs and encourages you to work hard. I always look forward to my work out!"

"Since January 2008, my weekly private sessions with Hally have been a gift. She is a focused, fearless, and joyous teacher who always gets to the heart of my Pilates practice."

I really enjoyed Lauren, the instructor on Saturday mornings. I prefer the "gentler" approach in instructors, but I thought Lauren was challenging. She explains positions in an easily understandable way. I also like taking classes with more intermediate/beginners (whereas I am advanced) because I have the opportunity to really focus on my positions versus getting into the really hard, advanced stuff. I beleive I can challenge myself even more in these classes because I have no excuse not to!

"Wow. Well what can I say...this place rocks for so many reasons. Hally Bayer is at the helm of Thrive Pilates, which is the Pilates "arm" of PhillyPowerYoga. She is fantastic, and her instructors are all very different but have their own unique way of teaching pilates. The studio resides upstairs from PPY on the second floor. it's conveniently located right off of Rittenhouse Square. I've actually taken private lessons with Hally for some time now, so when she went to start the new program at PPY, I obviously wanted to see what it was like. The vibe at the classes is really nice...communal. Whatever level you're at, there's a spot for you in a mat class. People are friendly, instructors are helpful. Overall a good spot to learn Power Pilates in a friendly, approachable environment. There's a lot more room in this studio than others I've been in, so the mat classes easily fit 12+ people at a time. "

"Im glad I decided to take private mat sessions with Lauren. In my fifties and not athletically inclined, I worried that Id feel very self-conscious. Lauren makes me feel comfortable. She also has me stretching and bending the entire hour, yet I dont experience a lot of aches and pains the next morning. Shes a strong believer that pain doesnt necessarily mean gain. She says, its not what pilates is about. After a session, included in her reasonable fee, she sends follow-up notes so I dont forget what Ive learned at home. Since working with her Ive become stronger, shapelier, and I love my Magic Circle. Lynne, 2010
"Thrive Pilates is the best thing that has happened to me in 2010! After searching for a Pilates studio that could fit my hectic school & work schedule, I found myself at Thrive. The instructors are wonderful and the intimate environment allows for individual attention and the ability to get much feedback. I love everything about Pilates and kickboxing! Everyone is so friendly and non judgmental. I do hope that they offer more evening classes and add another kickboxing! It's the most fun form of cardio! Great environment, great people!"
"Thrive is a hidden gem in the Rittenhouse Square area. Before finding Thrive, I had taken pilates classes at a local gym for approximately 2 years. When I came to Thrive, I met instructors who are passionate about pilates and love to help students improve. There are many classes available at all times of the day, 7 days a week. The rates are very reasonable, with discounts for students!

I recommend every bride books a private pilates session on the BIG DAY. I felt more relaxed because Bonnie is such a calming teacher by nature. Exercise is so important to my normal routine, so to have a workout on my wedding day helped make it slightly more relaxed because I gave my body something familiar on a very crazy day. She really focused on breathing exercises, which was so helpful for stress reduction. Wearing a bridal gown requires absolutely perfect posture--for HOURS! No slouching, and if you happen to slouch by accident, people will really notice (or worse, capture it on film) because the fabric will show it. I felt like my posture was absolutely perfect because Bonnie focused on elongating exercises. I highly recommended Bonnie Chong's pilates instruction leading up to the wedding, as I did, but without a doubt, every bride should squeeze a session in on your wedding day. It was the most perfect way to start out a perfect day! You will be so grateful you did!
